SCASBO consists of a diverse group of individuals engaged in the school business profession — finance, operations, procurement, food service, benefits, and other business services of a school district or SC Department of Education. Our organization is a non-profit association formed in the State of South Carolina that aims to promote the highest standards of school business practices for its membership. SCASBO is relied on to provide interpretation of the impact of state and federal legislation and works with its members to provide necessary data to school boards, leadership teams and the state legislature when legislation affects financial matters of our districts.
SCASBO provides opportunities through its conferences for professional development and continuing education. The conferences provide an avenue for members to network and exchange ideas among each other, as well as, an opportunity for vendors to exhibit their products and services related to the management of school systems.
These are unprecedented times for school business officials as the state and national economic environments continue to erode our districts’ financial stability. Every day brings challenges to each of us as we struggle with tough decisions while trying to be the best stewards of public funds — funds that directly impact the education and lives of South Carolina’ s children.
